Media Inquiries
The Center for Science in Public Participation can provide media with independent scientific, policy, and legal background on the environmental and public-interest dimenstions of hardrock mining.
CSP2 staff can speak to issues including water quality impacts, environmentally and socially responsible mining practices, mine reclamation, mine closure and post-closure bonding, tailings and waste rock management, acid mine drainage and metals leaching, submarine and marine waste disposal, mine permitting and environmental review, public participation, mining governance, community impacts, and accountability in mineral resource development.
